AMD launches the R9 370X

Submitted by Jason Singh on Fri, 08/28/2015 - 05:19

While the launch of the R9 Nano took the world of PC gaming by storm, AMD quietly released the R9 370X. The R9 370X isn’t based on a new architecture and makes use of the same Pitcairn core seen on the R9 270X. Like the R9 270X, the R9 370X will have exact same specifications with a slight bump in clock speeds or so we assume. It has 1,280 stream processors, 80TMUs, 32ROPs, a 256-bit bus, coming with either 2GB or 4GB of GDDR5 memory. A Sapphire Vapor-X R9 270x was spotted running at a clock speed of 1,200Mhz.  From the looks of it, AMD could have released it to go up against the GTX 950 and to compete with the GTX 960. It would truly be interesting to see how all these GPUs perform as they make wonderful budget GPUs.
