Car manufacturers are very pleased at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. In the past this convention mainly exhibited the newest TV’s, camera’s and phones. But this year Kia was there to show the world a lot of their novelties. The South Koreans focused on information and entertainment technology in which the User-centered Driver Concept (UCD) is most important. On the UCD all information regarding navigation, speed and traffic will be displayed on a colossal head-up 18’’ display. Beneath that display, Kia has installed an LCD screen of 12,3’’ equipped with 3D displaying your vehicle information.

Wireless
Kia also presents its IVI Concept-system. This is a multi-touch display in the middle (20’’) which can be used for internet radio or social networking. This application is of course connected to your smartphone or tablet and can also be used by other passengers. Each of them will be enabled to enjoy their own personal music and video preferences by using the wireless ‘mirroring technology’.
It is even possible to recharge your phone without any cables.

Hands free
Another thing Kia introduced is their new voice recognition system, which would serve you very well and can even react on gestures. We do however  recommend you to keep your hands on the wheel while dictating your texts messages, selecting music or telling the navigation system where you want to go.
