Many of you know the game-series named 'The Witcher' produced by CD Projekt Red. The game publisher used the books of 'Andrzej Sapkowski' as inspiration for their games. Netflix recently announced the making of a drama series based on the same books. Eight episodes of 'The Witcher' would possibly release in 2020.
New details of the series were disclosed by the script writer 'Lauren Schmid Hissrich' who is hired by Netflix to produce the series. The recordings will take place in East-Europe and will have a large story and a lot of action. According to Hissrich, there's no other logical place to record the series than East-Europe.
Most of the script still needs to be written, only the pilot episode is already finished. Some other writers will participate in writing the next seven episodes. We don't know when the series will become available, but the producer said 2020 together with the words 'who knows'.
Last year, Netflix announced that there were plans for an english series based on the eight 'The Witcher' books of Andrzej Sapkowski and would not directly be related with the games produced by CD Projekt Red. Anyway, the games are based on the same books, so there'll be certain similarities. Sapkowski is appointed as creative consultant for the drama-series.
